Is it possible to get half blades in barbers? I feel the 2 is too short sometimes so want to get a 2.5 this time. thanks

That will depend on the clipper your barber is using. All brands of clipper are slightly different guage. Most clipper suppliers will have midrange sizes (for competation cutting) but your barber would have to order them from the supplier. However the difference between a 2 and a 3 is only about 4mm.
I tend to just go with the weather. Number 3 for the colder months, number 2 for the warmer ones.

Some clippers also have a small leaver that allows the blade to be advanced fractionally by the barber to give a slightly shorter cut.
Best bet is to ask your barber.

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.
