if your corsa is running fine and the light is on still its most likely the egr valve. its a common prob

hi, sorry to bring up this old thread again...

I've got a 2005 Opel Corsa CDTI - in the mornings when I start her the revs hunt between 500 and 1000 rpm (up and down) and the car can also cut out... When she warms up the problem goes away - the car seems to have full power and I can't see any other problems. I've had the car for a month now and the EML has come on twice... I just switch the car off and on again and the light goes off - not sure if this is related to the hunting revs or not...

Any ideas? I've heard the hunting is classic symptoms of a malfunctioning air flow meter??

I've seen this before on a different small common rail diesel.

Start the car when cold and confirm problem occurs.

Switch off engine, disconnect the Airflow meter and restart, and see if it still hunts / cuts with the AFM disconnected. Reconnect your AFM when complete and let us know how the car behaved.

Also, does the car puff smoke slightly when it hunts?
