    tyre model ?
    tyre size ?

which one is more important for you ?
    - dry grip
    - wet grip
    - comfort
    - low road noise
    - wear rate
    - fuel economy

Every tyre brand has different class of tyres so there is no easy answer for your question without knowing which models you are referring to.

Roughly both brands are good brands so it is hard to go wrong for ordinary driving needs

wet grip is important of course and less road noise would be good as Octavia noise seems excessive.

There are dozens of types of bridgestone and Dunlop tyres. Your asking an impossible question!

I put a set of Uniroyal Rainsports 2 on the front of my 1.9TDI 110bhp last week. I reckon i have racked up approx 6-700 miles since i put them on. They are a crackin tyre. I have 205/55/16. One main drawback they have a fairly soft sidewall therefore I wouldnt recommend them for a tyre with a bigger side wall.

The reason i went for them was the excellent reviews on the Wet Grip performance! we have had a fairly heavy dose of rain recently and the tyres seem to just laugh at puddle of water! and they stick to the road...

My previous tyre was the Firestone 300 which i only got approx 15000 miles wear from them. Although i dont expect the uniroyals to do any better! Its was the wet grip performance that swayed me. They seem well capable of holding their own in dry conditions.

Road noise is quite good. I agree that the octavia is quite excessive. Less people seem to be complaining with background noise when using the handsfree.

Dont know how the Bridgestones or Dunlops compare on the Octavia.. Just my experiences above.

I have Bridgestones on my new vRS Octavia.
    Potenza;s
No problems for me in wet or dry and had to hammer on the brakes last week in the wet and it felt as if the road was dry.
I have 4,000 on them already and little or no wear showing.

still there are plenty of different models of bridgestone and dunlops.

    just guessing here.

Bridgestone turanza er300 is popular tyre around. very good grip on both dry and wet, longlasting but road noise and comfort is not great due to hard sidewalls. they are good price/performance tyres in my opinion.

Dunlop fastresponse model has good reviews with good grip + low road noise.

Today I bought michelin primacy hp tyres for my car for same price of turanza er300 after a 40 euro voucher from Michelin offer.

ive had both and most others and Bridgestone are far better than dunlop especially for wet grip but Goodyear are far better than both of them what size are your tyres
judgeing by price if grip is what your after definately go Goodyear Eagle F-1 Asymmetric
