    Hey folks.
Im seeking advice on somewhere to go to get fit and possibly compete in dublin city.
Im a bit old at 30 but my priority is work hard as many days as i can in training and see how it goes from there.
I have looked at kokoro and rush clubs and i think i can afford to go but would prefer somewhere a bit closer that i can walk to easy enough.
Im 30 years old moderatly fit and thin.
Im in terenure so i have no problem walking a couple of miles to get there.Just so far kokoro is on the northside of town which is just slightly too far for my liking.I would be happy to walk to city center though or anywhere within that distance.
Anyone know any places south city side?
Also if for example i paid the average 65 a month would that entitle me to come in whenever its open and train in a corner or spar or use the equipment.
I would love the classes but i think i would like to train as many days as i can push myself aswell.basically get the training and then put it to practise on punchbags/sparring nearly every day.
Is that possible on my small budget?
Have been looking at boxing clubs but just tonight was told no hope because im way too old at 30 to consider for competition so not worth them training me or allowing me to use facilities.
Any advice would be much appreciated. If it helps i was pretty good at soccer and have very good spacial awareness.Id love to give the mma a try and hope its affordable.

    Thanks all for the replies.
I checked google maps :) sbg looks like only a 30-40 minute walk from where im living and for 79 euro a month i can get full use everyday i think, so i will probably pop over next tuesday and try the intro session.Seems MMA is much more excepting of us old cripples lol
Now i just need to get googling on proper diet and nutrition.
Im looking into protein supplements and trying to get gear as cheap as possible aswell.Got my shorts and sourcing gum guard, hand wraps and whatever else il need.
All advice on any aspect of MMA training or ways i can prepare at home is much appreciated especially the supplements and diet.
Im in recovery from candida albacans, which means when i dont burn extra carbs fast it wont turn to sugar in my blood it feeds yeast in my gut and that grows and makes me ill. Also i have a very high metabolism and having trouble affording enough protein to prevent muscle burn.
So wheat and maybe whey if thats similar could be out.

I can vouch for both the paleo diet and SBG. In two months I've dropped about two stone between training and eating right (most of the time :-p )as well as having a great time training there.

I liked the video it was nice to see that dairy really isnt needed.loads of people keep saying i need it for my bones so i was unsure. But think i read you get enough calcium from veg.
But since suffering from candida through a bad diet of carbs and sugar years ago i have in the last 2 years been on this paleo diet as much as i can afford. It seems more like common sense maybe with some research than a specific diet for me it was called a candida diet or restricted diet lol
No carbs or sugar at all and everything fresh and organic as possible.
Not so easy on the dole though :D
Which leads me to ask what is the cheapest safest diet i can manage on with 35 euro a week.
5 steaks from tesco = minimum 25 euro for example and thats regular packaged crap.
Should i switch to eggs or protein shakes? in a shop today i saw some supplement shakes had casein in it.I know that goes in milk and can make you sick i think. So im a bit lost for safe ways for me to get all the nutrition and calories/protein i will need while avoiding things like wheat/carbs/sugar that flare up candida(yeast in the gut).
If those carbs/sugars reach my gut before its burned up the yeast will grow at 100 cells per hour.
By the way i only weigh about 10.5 stone i think and am 5' 11" wont be needing to lose any weight i will need to build muscle and fat most likely.
As it stands i think im burning too much calories to be able to get into me.Getting burning pain and stiffness on my right knee at the end of the day walking home.
