    Help please.
Mrs buying a new (used) car.
After a bit of looking around she's set on a Honda CRV 2 ltr petrol based on space & reliability.
She's done less than 7,000 miles in the last 2 years in our current car, mainly around town, a friend said she should go for diesel instead?
Should we go ahead and pick out a CRV?
Looking to spend anything between 6K-12K any other options or ideas out there?

    Thanks...

Sounds a sensible enough purchase to me. The petrol will be far more reliable and much cheaper to buy than the diesel so go for it. For the record modern diesels are much less reliable than petrols so are often a false economy. Anyway, for your wife's needs the mileage she does doesn't justify the extra outlay for a derv burner. Make sure you push hard on the price though as petrol SUVs are hard to move from the forecourt as the market is largely ignorant of the points I have just outlined.

Agree with coolbeans. No point in buying diesel for that mileage. An auto CRV would be ideal IMHO. And because of Paddy's irrational fear of petrol and road tax should be able to pick up a nice low mileage version for a bargain price.
