vhs to dvd cheap and cheerful way to convert

have vhs tapes and want to get them converted to dvd

these are home movies and dont wanna loose them

if anyone has or has done this before please could you help

if there is a cheap and easy way ?

alot to ask but any help is welcome

You need a vhs player, dvd recorder or hard disk recorder and a scart lead.
Just hook your vhs player up to the dvd recorder/hd recorder through the scart lead. Change the channel on the recorder to line1 or line2 etc. so you pick up the vhs signal. Press play on vhs and record on dvd recorder and you're sorted.

If you have a computer that can burn DVDs, just get a USB video capture device, hook the VHS up to it and record the contents on your computer, then you can burn them on to a DVD.
