wanted to start a thread from a betting perspective on the upcoming elections as we'll be seeing a hell of lot of action in the weeks and months ahead and lets try and profit from the hardship

only one bet available so far on the budget is pp- will the budget get passed 2/7 yes 9/4 no

Could the possible cuts to old age pension bring down government? I know they have started to suggest they may not do it but how can they get away with it in the situation we're in. Even the pensioners were expecting it until last few days and TD's starting to make rumbles to save their seats

    Any value in the 9/4?

As for the first big by election
    some conflicting prices out there
FF were 4/1, now 5/2 to win Donegal SOuth West
SF are 2/5/1/3. Pearse looks head and shoulders above the rest but Donegal is a backwater place with die hard FF & some FG's.

FG's candidate Barry O Neill looks to have the same charisma and charm as Enda Kenny while Labour never poll well in Donegal and their candidate is a nut job

Pains me to say it but FF have a chance at 5/2.

i can see SF taking the by election here. 2007 general FF polled 50% here.
in 2009 that fell to 30% with FG taking 29%. i see it being between the two of them. would fancy FG at 6/1 (last time i looked) for the seat. FF at 2/1 may be short if hedging and backing both FG/FF
