I tend to get dressy dresses in Coast during their sales. I find their sizes are quite generous, but they do have size 6.

I don't tend to wear dresses apart from 'dressy' occasions, but if I wanted something for smart day wear I find Hobbs or LK Bennett good, though a little pricey, but their clothes are usually good quality and last for years and years.

I tend not to like most Monsoon or Oasis dresses, and those that I do are either too expensive or don't fit me properly.

A-wear is hit and miss, but I remember getting a few nice dresses there a few years ago. I don't really like much of what's in stock at the moment.

It's always a good idea is to look for something that won't go out of fashion quickly and will last you for years. Also, something that you can change with different accessories is always handy, too.

ETA: I've always found it difficult to find something that I like and fits properly via the net, or that actually looks how I expect it to, so I like to be able to physically try something on, even if I actually buy it via the net. I find it can just get messy if something has to be sent back when bought on the net.

I generally buy all my going out dresses on ASOS. I love the styles they have and the fit is usually perfect! I'm only 5'1 and they have petite styles as well which is great!
They carry size 6 so may be worth a look!

yeah been on asos, nothing really taking my fancy! maybe I'm being too picky!! Seen a few on dresses.ie that I liked but they don't give any size guides..it's all either one size or small to medium!

I had one bad experience with dresses.ie and I've never gone back to them. They delivered the wrong dress, took forever to sort it out and when they sent the right dress some of it was stitched wrong so the hem was totally wonky. Not impressed!
