What is the most you would pay for an Irish home game? (6N for example)

If people could answer this honestly, it would be a big help.

Careful with the question, it's not, "how much do you want to pay?". Its what is the maximum you would be willing to pay for a "normal" ticket in Aviva to see Ireland

What is the Maximum price you would pay to see Ireland play at home (6N)? 95 votes

Around €70 is fair enough imo.

70.
50 for behind try line,
35-40 for the seats behind that small end.

there should be 3000 schoolboy tickets for about 15.

I put 70-80 euro but it would have to be a potentially cracking game for me to pay this.
E.g. I had the option to buy Leinster vs Munster tickets this season but said no as there wasn't anything on the line.... bar of course Munster's pride after losing 4 in a row ;)

€65 - Scotland/Wales/Italy

€75 - France/England

I'm assuming it's a decent seat on the east/west end.

I'd pay around €65 if they were good seats but that being said, tiered pricing is the way to go.

I think €70 is a fair enough price for the big games... €60 perhaps for the less high-profile matches..

no more than 60, which i still think is ridiculously high

I wouldn't pay more than €40 and see no incentive to pay anymore as I could watch any home game either down the local or at home for free....

FAI ford cup final in the Aviva this weekend; adult tickets 10 quid Juniors 5 quid; Im not saying thats what 6N prices should be but what the f@~k!! thats some difference.

40 to 50 quid is enough imo. People on here wit 70 quid jeez you must have loads of cash to throw about!!

The FAI cup final is not contesting the national teams. So direct comparison is fairly meaningless.

If you want to compare the international soccer ticket price, that's far more reasonable to do.

yeah, well you get what you pay for ;)

I'm a football fan too and I wouldn't watch an LOI game if it was being played down the back of my garden.... Poor stuff.... They need to have those prices to attract numbers.

70 quid was the average price in the old Lansdowne and in Croker too. I think staying at those prices would have been fair enough.

I paid €100 for Ireland V All Blacks in Corke Park so I suppose €100 would be my limit.

That's a very good point. Single pricing throughout the stadium is a sham.

familiarity breeds contempt

Because these games are getting more common, their value is diminished. If there were 3 games in a year, with France & England in the 6 Nations and one of Australia, New Zealand or South Africa being the third. The price could be higher. Having 4 tour Games week after week, severly diminishes the attractiveness of all 4.

Ive no problem paying 100 for a good ticket for the 6N.

It was 40 quid for the South Africa game for the school boy tickets. Complete farce, I think one person in my school of 700 put their name down. How can they expect us to afford that?

Infairness to them though they're giving us a good few free ones for the Samoa game. Obviously because they couldn't shift them but at least they're rectifying the situation

I disagree. First of all, you don't get what you pay when it comes to tickets in Ireland. League of Ireland is poor compared to top leagues, but our national soccer team play the some of the worst defensive football in the world, but ticket prices to that is also way too high.

€60 is what I'd pay for a big game, it should be lowered for smaller teams. I have to laugh at the IRFU every time I see the figure of €95 for the Argentina game :D

€60 for the big games but most should be priced around the €40.

The IRFU are lucky we are playing France and England home this year because they can and will still charge relatively high for those teams.

It's €30 to sit in the open in the RDS and Musgrave Park for ML games and you want internationals to be priced at €40

As ye say, there should be price levels.

€50 for the best seats are not a bad price for Samoa but the likes of the micro 'stand' should be at €30 tops.

Poll was a bit limited for me. I would pay up to 150. (6 nations or SA, NZ, Aus in the Autumn).

Have made the point elsewhere (not very well clearly) where it was mistaken as elitism or celtic tiger flash, but :

There are two constituencies of rugby goers in Ireland, those who can get a ticket, and those who cannot, irrespective of the price. Basically, club membership, blazers and alecados, connections, who you are, who you know etc.
So cheap tickets are great news for those who can get them. Bad news for those who cannot since none reach the wider world. Expensive tickets mean that they are available to a wider group, culminating in the recent IRFU advertising to try to sell them. I am in this 'outsider' tranch of having access to them. At 30 a ticket, I just wont get one.

Its certainly not that I have money to throw away, but in short: I much prefer to get to one international a year for 150 a ticket, than go to none even if tickets were 50.

As a student who earns €68 a week, yes. Yes, I do.

60euro is the most I'd pay but 80euro for the best seats is acceptable.

50euro for the upper seats, 60-70 for the mid range and 80 for the best seems about right.

Paid 100€ for France-SA last year, paid €100 for Ireland-NZ this year.

Tiered pricing is what the IRFU needs. If someone wants a crap seat for €20 - give it to them, and let those willing to pay more have better seats.

We're still a way short of this being an anyway meaningful poll, but the trends there are obvious.

Things that need to be addressed to the IRFU;

Very simply that every seat is not worth the same.
Prices cannot stay at what I would call World Cup prices for Autumn Internationals, and even more importantly for the 6N. If they don't fill the stadium for both home games, that will be an absolute disaster.

Student tickets, and under 16s tickets need to be brought in and used.

Having been to quite a few Leinster home games last year, the amount of younger kids being there, Jerseys on, giving it socks was seriously impressive, and needs to return to the Internationals imo.

Its an interesting poll, I'd be of the opinion that for a 6N game, I'd be happy to pay €65 for a last day, GS decider, but would use my student card where possible and keep the ticket price below €50

Even 15 is too much for schoolkids I'd say. Free/cheap seats for kids are an investment. There's no way in hell the Aviva will be half full for Samoa. The IRFU should be posting out free tickets to schools around the country, schoolchild tickets are an investment in the future player and supporter base of Irish rugby.

(If they're worried about kids running wild they could make it a condition that they must accompanied by 1 teacher for every 10 pupils or something)

Would pay around the 50-60 mark for a reasonably decent seat.

For example the Wales v SA game is priced at £70, £65, £60, £40, £25 and this seems to me a reasonable setup
