PlayOn with 3rd party eSATA drive

    I am considering buying a AC Ryan PlayOn HD Media Player but the out-of-the box 1TB or 2TB options seem very expensive. So I was wondering if I can put in any 3rd party 3.5" eSATA Drive into the Player if a but a set without built in HD?
    Also, any suggestions for good alternatives for a mediaplayer/storage solution are welcome (mkv, divx movies).
