Thinking of getting either of the above.

    08/09.

I'd prefer a focus but will only be driving around 50 - 100 miles a week max with maybe the odd trip down the country.

It wont be city driving or even daily use.

Am I wasting my money on a focus with so little driving.

I was thinking buying in UK as I thinking I could get my value for my cash.

Is there any downside to buying from the UK? I understand going back to the garage if an issue.

Do the Maths to see if its worthwhile whan you include VRT, if it is go up North and see what deal they can do for you.

Bear in mind: VAT is going up in the UK from 17.5 to 21% next month, but you also get more standard spec for your cash!

Just to give you an idea, my sister bought a 08 Fiesta 1.25 litre Steel II with 18km back in July. Paid €7,400 cash for it from a local Ford dealer. So do the maths and factor in how much the car will cost you in the UK, the currency exchange, VRT, flights, accomodation and ferry costs to see if you are saving much.

    Thanks lads.

Good to have an idea. That seems very good bazz

It seems like best to stay at home. Only starting my research on it as have a car but plan to change as causing problems so don't need a new car tomorrow.
