More ridiculous car trouble

So my locks were frozen on the car this morning. I managed to open the driver's and passenger doors but it seems the little metal hooks that latch on when the doors are closed are jammed into place now, so I am now unable to close the doors no matter how hard I try, force isn't helping!

    Any suggestions? It's a 97 Punto.

What exactly did you try to return them to the proper position?

Just hold the handles in the open position and pop them back into place.

Hasn't worked, I tried lubricant as well and it hasn't made a difference. They're really jammed in there, so unless the lube does it's work overnight then I'm well and truly fúcked.

    gaffer tape?

seriously, you should be able to work them free...try operating the key a few times incase the mechanisms are jammed

    tape the doors shut.....

id suspect if BOTH doors are affected the same the central locking must be jammed (if fitted)

Might the locks be stuck in the closed position with the doors open? If so, you should be able to move the little metal hook with a biro while holding the door handle open. Sounds odd that both would be stuck though.

That's exactly the problem, but neither are budging.:(

I googled it and came up with this: http://www.motorcarforum.com/fiat-punto-door-mechanism-3015.html

    and this: http://www.fiatforum.com/punto/139613-sticky-door-handle-wont-shut-properly.html

Maybe try some WD40 into the exterior door handles first?
