I want to replace my hot water cylinder and am also putting in a new bathroom. I want descent pressure in the shower so was thinking of getting a pump. After looking about I have some questions.

    1) How big are the new cylinders (height in particular)? Only one bathroom and
    2) Do I need a pump at all as some cylinders seem to have pressure
    3) If I need a pump what is the best quite one?

A stainless tank can be used in a closed (pressurised) system, the standard copper can not, It's more expensive but if you were also to buy a pump etc they could cost close to the same. a 300 ltr cylinder would measure 550-650mm dia and about 1500-1700mm high, give or take depending on outer skin and ends used.
It is worth getting a good plumber to do this change over for you, you have the potential for great showers with no noise, however done poorly, you will be screaming if someone touches a tap while your in the shower.

just to add, have someone look at your entire system to advise on the best size cylinder, I was just using 300ltr as an example. It depends on everything else connected to it. :)

300l seems huge the current tank is 50l at most but I think it is 30l.

If you plan putting in solar panels or tubes down the line, well then go for 200/300 litre cylinder, if not then its not needed. A pump will ofcourse will use the water fairly quick from the cylinder, but if your not in there for hours their wont be a problem. 1.5 bar brass pump
