The missus is in the market for a new / nearly new family wagon.
Can anyone, particularly those in the trade offer any insight as to whether we are likely to get a better deal if we wait until January.

I feel alot of what we are looking at is overpriced but surely dealers are looking to shift what they can now to make way for the trade ins when people change in the new year.

It will be a cash deal.

You might be able to get a good deal now on a 2010 demo model, if they haven't been offloaded already.

Most dealers wouldn't be expecting to move anything really between now and January, so pricing should already be set to 2011 levels. There will (unfortunatley) be some dealers who are struggling and will need to move metal just to pay bills, but even then there will be a bottom line and they it's not worth taking less than that.

There is still a big shortage of used vehicles so no one is having to clear space for Jan's trade in's (if there will be many anyway). Most places I've seen recently are more space than stock, and have been that way for a while.

    What's the budget?

    Cheers for that.
Seem to have missed the boat on the demos alright.
Asked about a few at the Drogheda motor show last Sunday but they where all sold.

Budget around the 20K mark, could go a bit more.

Unless you have a real hatred for Renault, or are only looking to keep a car for 2-3 years, get herself a Grande Megane in whatever spec you want to spend.

Car itself is huge, and they are much cheaper than the competition. €20k should see you in a Tom Tom model if you want that sort of spec. €16k would get the Royale model.

Haven't dealt with Blackstone in Drogheda, but I believe they are bang on. Otherwise, Joe Norris in Navan are very good to deal with.

Might have passed you at the Drogheda Motorshow! The new C-Max 7 seat is pretty impressive.

To Friends have Scenic's and have had nothing but trouble with them.
I'm sure lots of people haven't had a days bother with their's but for that reason, I'm out.

Didn't get to see the C-MAX, ford stand had no C-MAX, 5 or 7 and no Kuga which was a big disappointment.

I spent the whole time trying to keep her away from the qashqai but alas she spotted it and loves it!

Did you notice if the new CRX honda has ISOFIX :D

The Black MPV in the far right corner was the new Grand C-Max 7 Seat. I thought it was an S-Max at first and ended up going back.

The Mitsubishi ASX would be a good compromise to the Qashqai. Really good 150bhp 1.8Td diesel engine (€302 to tax), and the Front end looks quite a lot like the EVO. Won't hold it's value anywhere close to the Qashqai though.
