    Hi All

Girlfriend texted me this morning to say she seen a red lamborghini involved in a crash with a Sky installer van on the M50 at the N2 exit.
Never nice to see a car like that in a crash. Hope no one was hurt, Anyone see the incident or update??

Must be the Murcielago that has been around, assuming it was on Irish plates. Hopefully it's not too serious.

Dont believe it was very serious (injuries) but it caused mayhem as there was an accident northbound at the same time so people were rubber necking both ways.

The rubber-necking of passing traffic must have taken extra long because of the involvement of the Lamborghini.

What a shame. Hope there was only small damage, it's the only Murcielago in the country.

Looks like it's in Jim's hands now, on his personal UK plate like the rest of his cars. I doubt it was a Lambo in the crash this morning. All sides of this car looks perfect to me.

    Is that plate legal.

If it was an 05 plate before and Irish registered, is it no longer Irish registered with that plate ? Or am I making assumptions from the above posts. This car has a lovely picture on flickr. Just put in JIM KO and click on flickr page. Another JIM on facebook but not sure if that is same guy. Is KO like Murphy within the Chinese community ?

    is it Jim Mcdonaldforgodssakeliz?

This is the cannonball car, the red is 05D71748. The only reason I can see to put on the uk plate is to avoid motor tax. But yea it's illegal, to put on the plate the car would need to be marked as exported.

    That's his old Ferrari 430.

Yeah, look on the "About" page on the website I gave above, and it will tell you all about him and his boxing career.

How he gets away with driving around with a UK reg for so long I don't know, but he's been doing it for years transferring it to different cars now and then.

He could be driving around using Trade Plates (which may possibly have become detached from the front and rear windscreens and fallen to the floor).
This would make the car road legal "while carrying out official garage business".
The JIM KO plates could then be simply "show plates".

according to this https://www.mycarcheck.com/check/?reg_no=JIM+KO it doesnt exist, so must be a show plate.
JIMKO is not a valid registration number.

Unreal how hes been getting away with this for years

Probably because it's not JIM KO - it's a mixure of numbers and letter made to look like that. He also has 'JIM ROC' on his Q5.

He's a car dealer, I presume he's saying their garage cars.

but this car has a 05D plate so two possible things have happened:
    1. Car was bought brand new in Ireland so never registered in the Uk,
    2. Car was imported from the UK a few years ago, in this situation the old owner would post of their V5 to the UK reveune in swansea meaning the car is no longer registered in the UK.

either way what he is doing is illegal and is the same thing as me taking my plates of and say puting on a show plate on my car

Normally, I'm up on my high horse giving out about any kind of license plate shenanigans, but...

    1) If he has an 05 plate for this car, it's not a (massive) VRT tax dodge

    2) It's not like the guards will have any problems tracking down the owner of a Lamborghini if they want to.

I suppose he may be dodging Gatso camera tickets...

You can mark it as exported back to the UK and put a uk plate back on it you know.

It's not a VRT dodge at all, the VRT has been paid, you only pay it once.
