Which Agency?

    Hows it going?

I am currently out of work and I am becoming desperate especially with christmas around the corner. I have tried everything and anything applying for every and any job I come across but with little joy. I have decided to give a recruitment agency a go.

I know its not ideal and I use to work with lads on sites who worked for agencies and they were messed around terribly but there is not a whole lot more than I can do.

So im looking for advice on which agency to go to? I know there is a sticky about agencies but its more bashing agencies than anything so im looking for advice on which one? Which one has the best name?

To be honest Danye - if you're saying you worked on site, I assume you're construction based?? - I asked this question a number of months ago.

I've tried 3 agencies, and haven't had a reply from one.Nothing. But, I'm told CPL are quite good. Also Morgan McKinley.

Don't pin your hopes on them though, because once they see construction (which is my training) I think they just don't bother. Give it a shot anyway, keep at them, even just to get in and talk to them.

Yeah that's my thoughts on it too, will do anything.
Try those 2, and keep ringing them. Good luck with it.

some recruitment agencies are crap certainly but anybody out of work should be with a few agencies to be honest. I have my last two jobs through recruitment agencies and the most recent one which i am in now is permanent and was all done real easy.

I am always a bit wary of them and what they say sometimes if looking but some are good and do come through for you.

I have never managed to get a job through an agency myself and have ditched more than one due to bad experiences but I totally understand your situation. I would suggest that you stick to the most well know ones, CPL, Sigmar but be careful, they have no hangups about messing you about.

2 agencies called me today offering me what im 99% certain was the exact same job. Same location, requirements, experience required and salary bracket.
