need help with surround sound purchase

I bought a bush led tv and wanted to buy a surround sound system for it. another member said that any surround system will work on the bush tv as long as i hook it up with a HDMI cable. But the surround system i wanted to buy does not have a HDMI cable just a scart connection. Will the surround system still work does…
