Just wondering before I setup my new TV which has a Freesat decoder, I know that if I select a Belfast postcode I'll get BBC NI and UTV. Are there any reasons as to why I should go with a London postcode instead ?

There's no UTV HD on satellite, so a London postcode will get you ITV London HD.

I'm pretty certain that ITV London HD will still be available on Channel 119, with a NI Postcode. Might be worth a punt if the OP is setting up the box anyway. :)

No. ITV1HD not available with ni postcode. Use a london one.

Use SW1 1AA. I am not sure whose it is, but it works.:)

    It's Buckingham Palace.

Use a London Post Code, ITV HD on channel 119 and you can customise BBC 1 NI and BBC 2 NI onto channels 101 and 102.

If you use a London post code you'll also avoid the dreaded NI truncation of "Final Score" on a Saturday :D ...unless you really want to know how Linfield are doing? ;)

Personally, I'd use a Manchester postcode and have ITV 1 HD Granada instead of London. Better resolution and picture quality on the Granada HD channel, plus you can still customise BBC 1 and BBC 2 to whatever region you like.

Use of a London post code also gets you BBC1 London on 101 & BBC2 England on 102. These together with C5 are on the same transponder (helps when recording on 2 channels & watch a 3rd) - often regional variations of BBC1 are sharing transponders with other BBC1 variants so limiting what else you can watch if recording 2 other channels.

I should read the OPs post better - it's a TV - so recording is irrelevant...

    Hadn't thought 'bout that, thanks...
