    Hi

Basically I'm hoping to do a masters next year after I graduate from my undergrad, the masters I want to do is in a different city so I would be living away from home, thats unavoidable.

However apparently my parents income is too high to get the grant, even though without it I dont see how I could afford the masters since Ive another sibling who will also be moving away for uni, so it would be pretty impossible. Im just wondering is there any other means of aqquiring some form of a grant. Im 19 by the way, will be 20 doing my masters and it just seems unreasonable that the government doesnt recognise how difficult it is. It will also be such a waste of the years Ive spent studying hard if I cant further my education.

    are you currently a student?

if your not, i know this might sound impossible, but could you not find work somewhere and save up?

if your not a student, are you elligable to sign onto social welfare?
if you are, then you might be elligable for back to education allowance next year.

i am assuming that you are not getting a grant now..as you know yourparents income exceeds the limit...if the income stays as it is then the answer is that you wont qualify for a government grant.i am assumingyour parents are financing your education to some extent at the moment....your over the limit.....either work and save up or just work............ifyou can get a job....

You can't get BTEA for a masters

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

This may sound unsympathetic, but the taxpayer doesn't owe you a masters. If I don't qualify for a grant I have to go to a bank and get a student loan. I'd suggest that that is your main option or else look for a job that your undergraduate will improve your chances of securing.

To the OP I think a student loan may be your best option - you can also apply once you are in the course to the student assistance fund
