    Man that's nasty.

After my one and only IM I asked some marathon running friends if a normal marathon had a 'smell'? Apparently not, and having done DCM I can vouch for that. The IM marathon however has a smell all of its own, the smell of 1,000+ people who have been eating gels for 6hrs and are starting to feel it:)

Nasty indeed, I remember seeing a pic of a girl in the closing stages of a Marathon in a worse state though.... some people have no shame!

I saw the same in IM Austria. Someone in a white tri suit and an absolutely massive log. An hour after i first passed him I saw him again, he had mashed and coloured things but was still visible.

I can't ever remember a time when I really needed it so bad that I was willing to shit myself. I just don't think I have it in me.. well, obviously its in me :pac:

Not often there is a thread that the following question is not off topic...

Training: piss on the bike or not?

Three pees per hour on the bike in Austria, 13-14 on the bike. Hit the run perfectly hydrated.

What about diring training? I am stopping every 40 minutes these days, like clockwork..

I'd find it very hard to physically motivate myself to pee during training. My brain would make me hold on for dear life saying 'You know you really don't have to do this...'

To get a Kona slot you have to do what it takes, let nothing stop you during the run, and not give a sh!t what others think.

I'd need to know if he got the kona slot before I'd call judgement on him :D

That's what C and B races are for. In training I stop. Get too cold otherwise.

Looking to start training for the 70.3 in Galway next year. It will be my first attempt at this distance having completed a handful of Sprint and one olympic before. Anyone know good threads or got good advise?

The was a lad a few of us christened "Mr Poo" in Ironman CH this summer. He somehow managed to even get it between his shoulder blades. He passed me on the run. I didn't attempt to stick with him:)
