have one in a heavy barrel .243 to be honest it took a bit of sorting out to get right.kept losing zero.I pillar bedded it which sorted that and changed the trigger to a jewell triger the stock trigger was horrible I like a light trigger.now she is shooting like a custom job

I have a zeiss 3.5x 10x50 on her found vmax 55 grain(for fox) grouping sub inch @100 and 75 gr amax and 95gr winchester silvertips for deer, got the best results with these rounds but I was lucky she seems to like most ammo, was using 75 gr A max ammo for target.good thing about the rem 700 is the there are loads of aftermarket tweeks.I pillar bedded it myself bought a kit from the states im a carpenter by trade so I was confident enough doing it myself but I dont think it is that expencive to have a gunsmith do it, also you might not need it done depending on the gun my stock was badly fitted.this is where I got the pillar bedding kit http://www.scorehi.com/

    John Galway has one AFAIK.

I have A vssf II which comes with Factory pillars and a bed job.

There is so much after market available for a Remington it is beyond belief

i have a .223 VLS remmie in heavy barrel with 8x56 s&b scope, deadly accurate gun for fox shooting, will shoot foxes all day or night long 2-300 yards, have a BDL remmie .243 would say 223 more accurate or mabey iam just more comfortable with it at longer ranges, as would be shooting deer with 243 at 100 to 200 max. most places have jumped from 1050 euro to about 850 for VLS in 223 or 308.
