Garden leave Notice & Pay

Question that maybe people can give me some opinions on.

Company has gone into Examinership today. There will be multiple redundancies over the next few days/weeks.

I suspect some will be asked to take "Garden Leave" and work out their notice at home , some may not.

If you are asked to work out your notice off-site , are you entitled to your pay cheque there and then before you go or do you have to wait for the normal "payroll" ? Is it at the employeers discretion ?

Problem is if I have to wait till the end of the month whats the guarantee that the employer will still be here and will pay notice period.

    Cheers

You would normally get paid as per the usual schedule, as you're still on the books as an employee for the duration of your notice period. I don't know how it might work in your scenario though, as the garden leave I've heard about is generally for people who have resigned or been fired and the employer doesn't want them coming in any more for whatever reason.
