Hey I'm not sure if this was posted elsewhere. If it was could you point me in the right direction. I have my interview with KPMG tomorrow morning and just wondering has anybody already had their interview? What was it like and any advice you can give me? Also what is the business exercise about?
    Cheers :)

I had mine on friday, the business exercise was two competency questions. Everyone gets diffent questions, you type your answers up and they are printed out and given to yourself and your second interviewer after your first interview. You have to talk about / present one of your answers to the second interviewer (a partner). The interviews are fine, quite informal, the second interviewer will just sell the company to you I found.

I still have not heard anything back so a little bit concerned. Has anyone heard anything back yet?

Hey thanks for your reply. Hope you hear some good news from them soon. Did they ask any tricky questions? Or any specific questions related to what is currently going on in the news? Little bit worried about those sort of questions

No, no real tricky questions, but you should know some current affairs, maybe what would you do if you were setting the national budget and most definitely "who would be your ideal cleint and why"?

KPMG rang me today and said that the tax interviewers were meeting on Thursday and they would let me know after that.

Why did they ring you? Had you rang them first?

Has anyone interviewed for Audit? I applied for Advisory but was unsuccessful and haven't much knowledge on Audit?

Was told in my interview I meet all the criteria for tax, but that there is limited places in tax, so she couldn't guarantee my place there and then but would present a strong case for me for the tax board final decision.

Told I'd find out Thursday, as in today....anyone hear back yet?

I had my interview for tax last week also,
I have presumed I didn't get a place as a lot of my friends heard within hours/days of interview,

    Still havn't heard....

Just find it extremely strange for someone to tell you that your accepted at the interviewers level, but that they couldn't offer the place there and had to present me to a tax board.

Its going to be pretty horrible if I don't get it now after being given hope or false hope. Would have been easier for them to say nothing....

Did they not offer you the option of switching to Audit if you wanted to definitely get a place?

Got my call for KPMG tax an hour ago. :)

As I said above, they were having a meeting today to discuss the applicants and finalise everything so notice will be given from today onwards.

Again, i re-iterate, does anyone know what kind of money will they be offering for a trainee tax position, ball park figure will do.

Well I said I wanted to go for tax, so I didnt want to say during the interview sure I'll go for audit although tbh I don't mind. If I don't hear anything by 12 tomorrow I may call my interviewer and ask about going for audit if there is no positions left for tax.

Just find it extremely strange to be half offered a place.....

Haha why thank you. I got PwC and Deloitte too. I'm not sure but I don't think I'll take KPMG so thats one extra place.

And chances are you definitely have it if you got positive feedback in the interview. I'd say they just finalise it at the meeting. They'll probably give you a buzz tomorrow. Mine was at 6pm so they were probably just squeezing a few in before heading home

Yea I hope so, my Deloitte interview was a complete failure and I didn't apply to Pwc so getting pretty anxious and not sure if I want to prepare for an interview with E&Y during my exams.

Hopefully they all just went home and I get a call in the morning.

Guess I best just remain patient for a bit longer!

What happened with Deloitte? I thought the interview went ok but the ETray exercise was awful. How come you didn't apply for Pwc?

I withdrew my application for E&Y and I didnt do my call back for Grant Thornton too because I have so many continuous assessments at the moment I actually dont have the time. Bleh to final year!

what position did you get with PwC? I thought the etray thing was awful as well, but clearly doesn't matter cause they offered me one too.

I know the feeling about college almost stopping you from trying to get the job you want!!! ughh

Got tax in PwC. I didnt want to wrk for E&Y anyway so when I knew I had deloitte there would have been no point in wasting their time and mine
