Growing Heather

    i have a long bank, very stoney which i need covered. i'm thinking heather will grow in most places and look ok...

    any thought or alternatives?

    The one thing I have learnt from growing heathers is... They detest drying out.... Am not sure planting them on a bank (Esp a Stoney one would keep the moisture levels suitable for them)

    Think about

    IVY... Varigated Foliage types

    or for something that flowers..

    Summer Vinca Major or Minor
    Cerastium Tomentosum (White Snow) but tends to be short lived.. open to correction


    Spring Flowering ... maybe Aubrieta
