From PW.net : TNA introduced a new version of the TNA Title belt at the TNA Impact taping on Monday. Hulk Hogan threw the new belt in the trash and presented Jeff Hardy with the new version of the belt.

    150340_161205080584483_100000849760774_274506_5448602_n.jpg

Powell's POV: Dot Net Member Ernie Cruz sent a shot of the new title belt that is available on a Facebook page, and let's just say it's unique.

    My POV :
It looks like Big Vis sat on a transformer. And yes, that's another WCW reference; the December 18, 1995 edition of WCW Monday Nitro when Madusa threw the WWF Women's Belt in the trash.

Professional wrestler by day.... but at night, he is... GOTH-MAN! With his trusty utility belt, he battles his own personal demons. GOTH-MAN!

Actually, giving Jeff a cape and more face paint with that belt could be a great way to bring The Hurricane into TNA :D

Terrible looking belt, but it does suit Hardy's character.

Suits Hardy's character, but what about everyone else? They threw the TNA title in the bin. They didn't just replace the belt, they threw it in the bin. Which likely means that everyone will have to use that belt.

Considering it was apparently dubbed the Immortal World title, I'd imagine they'll revert back to the old one (or perhaps another new one) once somebody outside Immortal wins it. Plus, I imagine Hardy will be hanging onto that belt for a while.

If they wanted a belt to suit Hardy they'd have made a belt with a picture of a f*cking eegit who looks like a face painted fraggle on speed on it.:pac:

Maybe they will have the title suit the charecter of the chapion in future (smoking skull, rated R, spinner etc) But there aint that many people in TNA that I think can pull off such a belt. They definitly cant go back to the old one after its been put in a bin.

It depends how they react to it. If they have the babyfaces all cut promos about how it's a disgrace that the title was treated in such a way by Immortal and about how much that belt means to them, the eventual return of the old belt when somebody wins it could be a symbolic gesture of the decline of Immortal.

Would love to see the Pope with a custom belt, definitely think he could pull it off well.

That sounds great and makes perfect sense. But this is TNA were dealing with :p

So you're saying aliens will tell Samoe Joe through the tears he licks of the face Dreamer as he's cutting his 90th promotion about why things matters will inspire him to develop psyhic powers to lift the belt out from under the stone it was buried while getting screwed out of the title by a sverve of a poor call by the referee? 'cause that sounds about right for TNA booking...

obviously not, it'l be the Ninja's not Aliens that tell him :pac:

afaic considering im not a fan of the new belt unless the do something akin to whatMachismo suggested, throwing their own companies belt in the garbage can only be a bad move. It's a rather odd way to disrespect your own company and the history attached to that belt.

    both belong in the bin

I think that once you get over the idiocy of turning Hardy heel (with no face as big to take his place); his character isn't that bad, and getting a custom belt is kinda cool. Won't suit as a permanent replacement, but for Hardy's run i'm happy enough with it. Titles can look crap in pictures too (thinking specifically of the new WWE Tag belts), i bet it looks much better on the TV show. I'm sure the plan is how Machismo Fan prophesied.

I'd be somewhat worried that they'll have it as the belt in general since that's what WWE did with the Spinner belt. It's a disgrace that other wrestlers -- especially Mr Oldschool Triple H -- still wear the title.

It's obviously sh1t cus it doesn't have a spinner on it!

I think it looks a lot better in that second shot. It's obviously just a signature belt for Hardy ala Stone Cold / Edge / John Cena in the WWE

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,284 ✭✭✭Gerard.C

It says TNA across the faces forehead. I bet CM Punk is pissing his hole laughing at Jeff Hardy with his belt that would only be worn by depressed 14 year old young ones and probably his fat arse brother if given the chance

LOL TNA tbh. You could at least understand WWE desecrating their belt with that spinner sh*te - at least they knew kids would love it and buy all kinds of spinner related merch. But what kind of a d*ckhead would want that atrocity?

Trust them to steal a simple WWE idea and make a complete and utter bags of it.

It is supposed to be based on one of Hardy's unbelieveably retarded looking paintings actually?

Thats all they've been doing for years is stealing ideas and making absolute fools of themselves - the nwo, ecw, the 4 horsemen, Hogans heel turn. All these things, and they claiming to be the new face of professional wrestling. i wonder how much money they have lost in the last 3 years, and if they can honestly say they are happy with their current product. I wouldnt wipe my arse with them in all honesty

I can't believe it actually says enigmatic champion on it.

That is easily the worst championship belt ever.

Well those last pics just prove that this belt is only for Hardy. I think the reason behind the new belt is to further push the fact that Immortal can do what they want, when they want. They should have kept the 6-sided ring this year, then switch to the 4-sided ring after this Immortal formation. Then it would have had more of a hostile-takeover feel to it.

The thing that doesn't make sense though is why do they want to either fire or injure everyone......... because if all who is remaining is Immortal and Fortune guys, then who are they going to wrestle every week? What are they going to do every week?!

Not much discussion about the actual show on here, I thought it was a pretty good show. Pardon the pun, but it was non-stop action, with major developments in all the angles and not much filler. A couple of heel turns from Buh Buh Ray and Rhino, which I thought was interesting and builds new feuds for the next PPV.

The bathroom scene was weird though. Why would Abyss choose to take a dump in the middle of a live broadcast? Ok when you gotta go, you gotta go, but if I was Bischoff I would be telling him to sh!t, shower, and shave before turning up the arena next week.

Angle returning...... dont need to say how great that is.

I'm not really hot on the Hardy/Morgan feud, I can't ever see Morgan getting that new belt, I just feel like it's filler until Anderson is back. But what i'm really waiting for is a Hardy/RVD feud, could be some great PPV matches there.

Well they seem to enjoy talking a fair bit, so maybe they're looking to get rid of everybody else so Bischoff and co. can spend the entire two hours talking about how great they are.

Well if I have to watch Bischoff for two hours, then the least he can do is talk less and play the guitar more.
