They seem to have some really good 'Fair trade' products for really cheap. But I'm wondering if it's too good to be true?

Couldn't find either of the business names in CRO i.e. 'Fair Eire' or 'Samson Fair Trade LTD'

Anyway, the link is below but all I really want to know is, is it safe to buy from them? Anyone used them?

tbh I don't think the site owners have done themselves any favours by having a GMAIL contact email but if you run what I call the normal internet type checks it looks like they might be OK.

If your interested this is what I did...

looked up the domain registration info at www.dnsstuff.com (you only need the free features of the site) use the whois lookup

found a couple of registrant names, put these names (with a few variations - inverted commas around the names and dropping middle names) into google and found the names involved have something to do with a craft fair that is run in Meath.

took the event info in meath (ogranising company) and pumped that back into google found another website that just looked very similar that was about event organising for craft fairs.

so another whois domain lookup and found one of the same names and another company name

then when back and check all the companies inlcuding the one the OP quoted and found them all listed at http://www.solocheck.ie/

I expect a bit more digging would pull up some more info and other similar companies but coudn't find anything that looked like someone was doing a cover up or trying to scam anyone. But I'd only make a token purchase with any internet firm I'd never dealt with before just to see what the service was like.

    Hello Liam

thanks for your interest in Fair Eire - we are a legit irish company and the CRO will confirm this if you call them. I know Samson does come up on the Cro search as I looked other day for our company number - but the site can fail to find companies which exist.

I agree with post above always use solocheck for info it's spot on :-). And for their info we use gmail as our website is hosted by a company which won't host the email forwarding thingy - it's very confusing for me but I agree it's not brill!!

Your right our fair trade goods are very well priced because it's the main aim of the company. We spend slot of time buying from wfto and BAFTS suppliers and know how much some companys charge on top - this is not fair trade it's a rip off and sp we aim pricing to compete against the high street but with higher quality :-).

We have loads of happy customers and I hope you will join them - we can gift wrap etc for you foc just ask us. And you pay with paypal so your always covered :-)

    all the best
    alexandra
