 Im in fifth year now, but I don't have a clue what the costs of going to college are.
-I know there is a registration fee but must this be payed every September?
    - What else do you pay after the registration fee?
    - And around how much in each case?

    Thanks in advance

If you were born in the EU then the non-tuition fees are €1500 (rumoured to rise to €2500 next September).

Then there can be student levy fees dependent on the college, €30 - €100 range.

    5/6 a side football

    Coolmine Sports Centre - Wednesdays - 8pm

    PM me for a game

Eh, student levy is a little more than that. €226 in NUIG.

Reg fee (by the time you get to college) will either be €2500 or €3000 and yes, both these are paid every year.

After that, accomodation, food, heat, electricity, books, etc...

Thanks, that's very helpful because I really didn't know how much it would cost.
How often is the levy payed? How come some of the UCD courses have figures in the thousands on their website?

Student levy is paid at the same time as the registration fee, on registration :) It's yearly also.

Actual course fees range anywhere from €5000 - 30,000, depending if you're Irish, EU citizen or non-EU citizen. These fees are paid by the government under the free fees scheme, so at the moment all you need to worry about is the registration fee and student levy.

I paid 2,300 euros for EU tuition fees on top of the 1,500 reg fees in DIT.
Will I have to pay EU tuition fees on top of the rumored 3,000 reg fees again in my second year? :s

All money stuff is dependent on both where you're planning to go and what you're planning on doing. Then also you might be eligible for grant assistance. I'm an EU member, eligible for a grant and go to trinity; I only have to pay a USI levy of 85 euro. However a Non EU member doing my course would have to pay thousands.

Maybe check out www.studentfinance.ie if you get a chance
