Cracked Laptop Screen

    Any one help.
    I recently cracked my sony viao laptop screen, so i got a second hand replacement.
    I put in the screen and it came on.
    Problem is its like a dim foggy picture.
    So i put back in the cracked screen and that works ok.
    So put in the replacement again same thing,a dim foggy picture ,anyone got any ideas.

    faulty screen or not the right one for your laptop

    is the inverter built onto the new lcd if so try the inverter from your cracked screen or maybe the backlight

    The screen is lit by a bulb/backlight like the picture above, might be broken/blown in the replacement.
