Had a look at St Nicholas's Church in Galway Recently.....amazing graveslabs, and even an apprentice pillar complete with Fleur de Lys. An Irish Roslyn perhaps??

    Is this the one? http://www.stnicholas.ie/history

    Hi,

Yes i took pics of the graves, and other features...i have them on another pc, though. Thats the website for it.....very minimal, and speculative, information. Speaking of speculative....there are many specualtive and operative graves from the Masonic community there...one dating from the 1740's and an intriguing grave featuring 3 Maltese crosses and an Anchor,

go visit sometime. it raises a lot of questions.

A very recent and very good article on the church can be found in the Journal of Irish Archaeology - 2009 - Volume 28 (pages 95 - 113) - It is by Dr Jim McKeon and is well worth a read for anyone interested in the history and architecture of the building.
