Feed back on forum moderation

with only 6k or so less students than NUIG, this forum is dead. I know of loads of people from GMIT on boards. Who agrees this forum needs new mods? Current ones are too busy modding Ah or not being online for a week or so at a time. Probably don't even go to GMIT anymore.

Some of the users of this forum have expressed concern about the forum and how it is run.

If the users of this forum would like to express there feelings about the running of this forum then by all mean post them in this thread.
I will leave this thread open for the next two weeks.

What do you suggest minkman? How would it change with other mods?
What other Edu forum are you comparing to? Just NUIG?

Put up boards.ie forum posters around campus and generate some traffic to the place in college. Perhaps try and get the campus paper to run a segment about the forum. Suppliment this with stickies about things to do on campus, how to get essays printed. Give people a reason to visit again.

Mods are not responsible for general interest in the forums and how would changing a moderator help? Unless Mink_man is gunning for a top job?

I dont get wot u mean why does it need new mods. do u even know wot a mod does??
They dont generate interest in a particular sub forum.
1 of the things they do is delete posts like insults directed at a particular member of the site or delete if some1 put porn up or something like that.

Please use your full keyboard - it's what it's there for.

As others have said, mods have absolutely nothing to do with student interest. A lot of people probably don't even know boards.ie exist, let alone a subforum therein. If you want to get more interest, try to publicize boards more on the campus.

He wasn't replying to the OP.

Text speak is banned from Boards as it is on many other forums. The reason being that most text speak is hard to understand, whereas we all know the meanings of the dictionary enteries.

how do ya even become a mod? is it mods picking other mods? considering the amount of interst mink_man seems to be showing in the gmit forum id be in favour of him becoming a mod over it.
