Avast taking forevvvver to download - is that right?

Hi all, I've just bought a new laptop and am downloading avast on it. It's taking forever. Usually when i download something it's super fast but this is taking ages. Is that the usual way with avast? I have UPC internet connection..

I'm guessing it's nothing to do with Avast. It's probably your internet connection.

Try speedtest.net to see what speed your connection is running at. If you are using a wired connection, once you've tested the speed, switch to a wireless connection (if you have a wireless router) and test the speed over that.

And if you're wireless at the moment, just plug the ethernet cable from your router into your laptop and see what internet speed you get with that - it might be your router.
