...simply because "we are unlikely to win the seat"

    ?????
What kind of democracy are we living in here?

I was wondering this as well. And doesn't this also mean that, because they said it wasn't required to be filled immediately, that there must be a hell of a lot more TDs we can do without? Surely if Donegal SW can survive without a TD for half a term then everywhere else can too? How much would this save the country?

I wasnt aware we were living in a democracy.....:(

But the powers that be can do pretty much whatever they want so long as the people accept it and we have got it rammed up our ass since the Free State. People dont realise how badly theyre being ****ed so long as you give them a nice image of security and freedom, yet, its all an illusion.

As long as we dont have criminals robbing us in the streets, we tend to not care about people receiving bribes from zoning and construction firms, abusing their power and earning a small fortune on tax payers money.

There is no legal or constitutional requirement.

A fictitious one. There is no such thing as democracy. Governments by the people, of the people and for the people do not exist. It's more like by the people, of the elites and for themselves. Public service is a joke.
