I've been on 2 courses of antibiotics in the last month or so. I didnt start back on my pill after the last break because antibiotics effect them and I thought I'd give my body a break from them for awhile.

I was due my period on thursday and id been getting little cramps, the usual telltale signs that theyre coming but i didnt get them. I had sex probably 3 days before i was due my period. I took a preg test on sat just to put my mind at ease, it was negative. but from reading the box it says there may not be enough preg hormone to detect, so basically my mind is not at ease!

I dont know if its possible to get preg just before your period and if you did would you not get that one period and skip the next?

I know i just have to wait and see and its probably just the fact that i didn't start back on my pill that im a bit messed up but id love someone to talk to about this, boards is someone right?

there is always a possibility that pregancy can occur just prior to your period, but most women's fertile period - occurs midway or so in your cycle. for most (not all) women ovulation occurs 14 days before your period. so pregnancy can occur a few days either side of that.
thats the textbook, but every woman is different.

stressing /illness can delay a period. if you miss periods during pregnancy, you miss from the first due one after conception, but there are some women who continue to have periods throughout pregnancy as well.

if you have missed a period, do a test. better than sitting around getting worried.
    Good Luck

edit: just saw that you got a negative test. if you are still worried, get a digital one. they are extremly sensitive- some have found it to be more sensitive than GP ones.

    Thanks Neyite!

So if its possible to get pregnant a few days before your period is due, would you not still get that period because it may have started inside there? I know i must sound stupid but i honestly never paid attention to this before. I ask because i was getting light cramps all week so i presumed it was starting.

Think ill wait a few days and get the digital test. i got 'first response' the last time, its supposed to work 6days before your due but the info in it said its only 99% accurate and every woman is different, depending on their cycle there may be less pregnancy hormones.
