TCD Post Grad in Education

    Just applied to TCD PG in Education for Maths.

    I have 0 hours teaching experience but 15 years in the engineering industry.

    I have a Electrtonics (3rd class honours) engineering degree from TCD.

    Is there any chance I will get on the course. 1000s must apply.

    You're more than likely writing your personal statement at the moment and that is probably the most important part of your application to Trinity so put a big effort into it. I could say that do a good one of those and you'll definitely get shortlisted for interview but I don't know (a) What specifics the people in charge of Maths are looking for or (b) The standard of the other applicants this year. Asking if you've a chance of being accepted is akin to asking how long is a piece of string!!

    I wish you the best of luck with the application process however noone on here can tell you if there's a chance you'll get in. :)

    I suppose what I mean is.

    There are probably 100s of people with better degrees and better experience and teaching experience.

    On paper these are far better candidiates - so why would they invite me to interview.
