Recommend SD Card

Hey,

I did a bit of a search but because Card is such a common word there were literally thousands of results, and the boards search wont look up SD for me.

I'm looking to get a new SD card for my Desire, I currently have the 4GB stock card and would ideally like to get 16Gb card, but a good one with fast write speeds for HD recording.

Can anyone recommend one that they have used?

is there a limit to the size that the Desire can take? And is Class 6 the best?

AFAIK 32gb is the largest available and class4 is fast enough. I am open to correction though...

Sorry, my mistake, just checked and the one I have is 8gb Class4 and not the one in the link.

Where is a good place to pick one up then? I have checked Amazon.co.uk and they wont deliver to Ireland, Amazon.com charge €20 delivery, Komplett only have a few.

A bloody good price too! I went with a 32gig card as I use the Desire as my main mp3 player now.

Looks like You were probably trying to buy a card off of a dealer who sells through amazon. Basically, check if it's eligible for supersaver delivery and you should be ok.

7dayshop.com sell them. They had a 16gb card on sale yesterday for £16 or so, shipping is minimal and service is excellent (just won a Which? award).

That card is a Class 2 card. Read/write speeds are not great to be honest. You would want to be getting something over a Class 4. A Class 6 should do you alright but you pay for the bump in speed.

as far as I am aware (and I have been looking) the 32gb does not come in higher speeds... yet! hence I am holding off for a bit longer, but may get 16gb instead!

I have a 32GB SanDisk Class 2 card in my Desire and it works perfectly...

I haven't used it for HD video recording so that's the only thing I could see being a potential issue.

And there aren't any 32GB cards over class 2, don't know about 16GB. And remember class 2 means a minimum of 2MB/s read/write speeds.
