So i attempted to activate it then it tells me I need to reinstall windows to activate it!I don't have a windows vista disc nor do I have internet at home!I'm also a student so I can't really afford to spend much on tryin to fix it!has anyone any ideas?

    Yes that is better

    Try this
    1) Open Internet Browser
    2) Type %windir%\system32 into the browser address bar.
    3) Find the file CMD.exe
    4) Right-Click on CMD.exe and select 'Run as Administrator'
    5) Type: net stop slsvc (it may ask you if you are sure, select yes)
    6) Type: cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareLicensing
    7) Type: rename tokens.dat tokens.bar
    8) Type: cd %windir%\system32
    9) Type net start slsvc
    10) Type: cscript slmgr.vbs -rilc (It may take a long time for this to complete, please be patient)
    11) Reboot Twice
    12) You may be required to Re-Activate. Use the Activate by Phone method outlined above

Does the laptop have a product key for the version of windows you have installed?

    It's usually under the laptop

If it does you can go through the activate instructions, when it fails to activate use the option to contact Microsoft and talk through the problem with them

If you don't have a product key for the version of windows then you'll have to sort it out some other way

So if I ring them up and tell them the product key(I do have it) they should be able to sort it out then! Thanks!

yup, use the activate by phone option, you will have to call out some numbers from the screen then they will give you a load of number to type in, once thats done then windows is activated.
