Looks good but I'm officially giving up watching trailers... is it just me or are they getting longer and jamming them full of more spoilers these days??

Seen this last night and thought it was excellent.

I avoid trailers and the like, but just going by the poster, it looked junk - but I really enjoyed it.

Some great laughs in it. Surprised it was only 16s too.

Girls, you might want to sit close to the screen, as there is one scene where that could be advantageous ..

    :p

Oh and .. don't leave when the credits come on, some good stuff during them also.

That scene with Merchant is the best part of the film imo. Went to see this last night, wasn't too impressed, yeah there was a few laughs here and there but nothing outragiously funny. The humour just felt a little dated to me, e.g
the scene where they were stoned on the golf course
i don't know how many times i've seen this in comedies over the years it's pretty unoriginal and it's just not funny anymore. Kind of sums up the whole film for me.

As an aside though, was it you OutlawPete who started the thread in AH about sexy eyed celebs?

Not surprised you liked the movie :pac:

    .

    ...Really ? I mean...seriously?

I thought it was awful. Totally lacking in creativity, humour and everything else. I would say there are about 3 laughs in the film, at a push. Doesn't have any of the spark of Theres Something about Mary - or the wit for that matter.

Afraid I'm with Tusky on this one - one of the most boring and awful movies I've watched in a while.

Well, there was a load of us, drink had been consumed and that girl's boobs were amazing .. hhhhm.

Nah, really thought it was good.

Held my interest throughout and lots of great laughs, that's all I'd want from a movie like that.

    How could you not like:
    Fake Chow.

Would even watch it again, would of the better comedies I've seen in a while.

I'd don't know, maybe it just suits my infantile sense of humour :p

I lost the vote on what to go to see tonight, and I will agree with others: worthless, formulaic junk.

Barring Stephen Merchant, I have not a good thing to say about this entire film. The predictability of the plot (which in itself was predictable, didn't expect anything more) and gags. I genuinely wanted to throw something at the screen during the 'stoned' sequence, the laziest fall back for film-makers in search of cheap laughs. Every joke was explained way too much, the gross out comedy feeling out of place and let's be honest not all that gross out. I hate films that paint males and females with such broad strokes, it does no favours here in the slightest. Jenna Fischer is the only likable one of the bunch (that's a second good thing actually) - Owen Wilson has played this exact role way too many times before. Every situation feels contrived - well, most comedy is contrived, but rarely as obviously as it is here.

Didn't expect much, and it delivered very little bar the admittedly amusing end credit sequence. Really the worst film I've seen in a while, and I was in the mood for something dumb :( Oh There's Something About Mary, all is forgiven!

Is it possible for the reviewers to give their age(s), please? It might help the rest of us make up our minds. :)

Top Dog thought it was boring and awful and I thought it was excellent craic.

So, there goes the age theory :)

I'm 23 and thought it was immature crap :pac: I really don't buy into the idea that age or gender are ways to judge cinema. Obviously some films are aimed at specific genders, but in 95% if cases Id imagine they're garbage as a result.

It all comes down to personal preference at the end of the day! If I'm ever told I should like a film because of my age or sex, me thinks I'm best off avoiding it!
