Ok so I own an xbox 360 and am interested in buying the kinect as I like the idea of the interactive games etc.
Have played the wii and really enjoyed it.

So the question is should I buy a Wii or a Kinect?

    Pros and Cons please guys.

I have put this on both the xbox section and nintendo section to get both sides on this.

Try to be as unbiased on this as possible please.

    Thanks.

Kinect is still a young technology. Personally I'm waiting for the game library to get bigger.

I'm an xbox gamer and I have a wii, so I'm not biased. I just want to see what they do with it beyond fitness, dance and minigames.

I genuinely haven't paid Kinect much attention due to it looking a little band wagon jumping as I have had a Wii since 2006 (I know the kinect isn't exactly the same as the Wii interface but smacks of "casual gamers? me too please") but Tycho Brahe says.
Kinect versus Move is a media-driven false choice. The Microsoft Kinect is a demonstrably, profoundly bad Playstation Move. There's simply no comparing the two devices, at least, no way to compare them that makes the Kinect look good. For example, Child of Eden would be about a thousand times better with Move, a fact I hope is eventually absorbed by its publisher. Tumble, one of the simplest games available for the Move, is founded on an absolute control of x/y/z movement that might not even be possible on the Kinect.

I would go with the Wii, not much on the Kinect right now to validate the excess cost. plus the Wii has an amazing back library of great games, dispite what everyone says "Hurhur its all shovelware party games hurhur".

Well, your looking for an unbiased opinion, asking this question on the Nintendo forum!
I have them both and have to say, for future gaming bliss, go for the Kinect, it's all kinds of awesome.
WiiHD should be here by Christmas 2011, so don't bother with the Wii if you don't already have one.
Not that much to get terribly excited about until then.

Well, I have both. Bought the kinect three days ago with kinect adventures inluded. Hate to say this, but maybe I made a mistake buying the kinect so quick, because kinect adventures didn't last more than 2 days on my enthusiasm. I got bored already. Maybe I should have waited a little more. Right now I got back to playing NBA Jam Wii. I hope more games come out soon for kinect, otherwise I'm selling it. Don't get me wrong, it's great, it's awesome, you will get wowed  when you'll start playing it, it's just that you'll get bored easily on it.

I think I could've had the same line when I got the Wii, way back at launch, once the glow of WiiPlay and WiiSports had diminished, it all seemed a little, well, boring, it took COD3 to break me out of that funk, along with Prime 3.
The Kinect's day will come, why not try some of the other launch titles?

    I will. I will.;)

And what's this rumour about the Wii HD, or the Wii 2? I heard about it from another place, too, but never from an official source. Is this really true?
