I am totally new to airsoft so sorry for the stupid question :(

I'm looking to buy a pistol I see on an irish airsoft wesbite.
But I see a Gun gas care, Machine pistol, Blowback and and C02.
Can someone tell me the difference? :)

Mainly I am looking for a pistol that the chamber moves when firing as I have seen in some youtube videos :)

    thanks guys.

your looking for a Gas Blow Back pistol depending on brand some will be abs some will be metal ,

Standard type operate using green gas full slide operation like the real version

Machine Pistol a gas blow back with full auto firing or selective fire modes

Co2 pistols come both in blow back and non blow back (slide stays in a fixed position)

Co2 is also better for use in colder climates like ours more enconomical co2 capsule fits into the mag of the pistol

in co2 non blowback pistols you can get to shoot up to 250 bbs before haveing to replace the co2 capsule

Just to add on a little from what Gatling said:

    - GBB, or Gas Blow Back, is where the gas is used to fire the BB & move the slide backward, which chambers another round. This can be powered by 134a (Tokyo Marui most prominently), HFC22/Green Gas/Propane (vast majority of pistols), or CO2 (a growing number are using CO2).

CO2 is a much more effective propellant to use, because it is a high pressure gas, not subject to the main effects of cooling down. Green Gas on the other hand is virtually unusable in winter - it just does not have the pressure unless you warm the mags first.

    - NBB, or Non-Blow Back, is where the gas is used only to fire the BB. The slide is usually fixed, although there are one or two that let you move it manually for play, but it serves no function. These pistols come in all the gases listed above, but are predominently CO2 powered. They are nowhere near as fun to shoot as GBB, but they are still useful - it just depends what you are looking for.

    - Machine Pistol is just a pistol that has the ability to fire full auto. It can be powered by battery or gas, depending on the make and model. Just remember that if you're looking for a blow-back machine pistol, that CO2 is the only way to go cause of our current climate; rapid fire causes the mags to cool down drastically.

From what you've said, you're looking for a GBB pistol. There are many out there, so you just have to decide what you like the look of. The main styles are:
    - 1911's (M.E.U., Hi-Cappa, Dragon, Baby Cappa, Detonics etc)
    - Beretta (M92, M9A1, Cougar)
    - Sig Sauer (226, 229, SP022 etc)
    - Desert Eagle

Happy searching - oh, and try to shop in person for pistols. Depending on the shop, you'll probably be allowed dry-fire (Fire the gun with no BBs). This will give you a much better feel for what you're looking for, and will help your decision big time.

I would definitely recommend you go the CO2 route. Best of luck!
