None, I'm sick of re-skins of the same engine and charging full whack for it.

When does the review embargo end? Tonight I presume/hope. I'll make my mind up after that as to whether or not I'll even be buying the game, let alone which platform!

    Wait for the ZP review.
See how many good points he makes and how quickly.

Ha, as good as his reviews are, I will not be waiting for him to release one. Most things he says can be taken with a pinch of salt.
Reviews for all platforms are looking good so far. Got mine on PC.

Seriously? New content? The new multiplayer modes are all rehashes of popular community made mod's that have been floating round pc FPS for years.

The Single player has nothing new to add. The same constant respawn enemies that stop past a trigger point, the same "oh wow" cutscene, the same vehicle sections and the same rehashed "Stealth" bit.

It is what it is, a re-skin of the COD engine following the COD game format bring nothing new to the table. That's all Treyarch do.

"Reskins" like this still take considerable effort to pull off, regardless of your feelings of whether it adds to the genre or not.

I'll be getting it on the PC anyway, quite looking forward to the return of dedicated servers at least not to mention the balancing issues which will hopefully bring it back in line with MW1 rather than the mess of MW2.

If I thought this would bring anything new to the table in terms of multiplayer game types I'd probably give it a go, but it looks like another money magnet sharted out by Activision. Also, whatever is broken will probably stay broken for a good while.

I'll look into picking it up cheap on PS3 in future, but MAG just keeps getting better.

I would have perhaps picked it up on the PC, but upon reading that the Multiplayer is pretty much exactly the same as MW2 (oh bar one new gamemode that's pretty much a sop, even if the addition of Dedicated Servers are thankfully back), I think I'll pass. The SP looks intriguing, but by no means 40-50euros worth of intriguing.

The reality of the recession's hitting home for gamers like myself in full time employment, I can't afford to just buy every new AAA release on a whim. Replay value is king here.

The balancing and tweaks should be quite interesting since, as I mentined above, they may go some way to redressing the imbalance in MW2.

I'd actually consider picking this up. Thought the last one was awful, but i've heard good things about this so far, and from people i'd trust more then regular reviewers.

Going to wait.....have bought every COD since the second installment as well as MOH except the last one. Also played a lot of BFBC 1 and 2 so think I am done with military shooters for a while. I may pick it up if I hear that the mulitplayer is any good. I preordered MW2 and if I was doing it all over again its a game I would have skipped. The single player was a confusing mess and the multiplayer was a step back from the original MW.

No. Every review on the net says the same. There has been nothing original in the COD franchise since MW.

Also I bought the last Treyarch game. I spent 5 months being unable to refresh my server list and 8 months being unable to play on the same IP as my flatmate. This was because of Minor modifications they made to a working Engine. Not interested in putting up with that again.

Jeez, you're a patient man. I'd have given up after a few minutes.

Thats a bit unfair since MW2 was an infinity ward product and guilty of the same sins. Personally I found the single player campaign in WAW far more engaging than MW2.

I got it on PC. I was a fan of MW2 but i'm really liking this.

Single player is a lot better then MW2 imo.

Well you've been asserting a very solid opinion for someone who hasn't even played it. and I'm sure that the issues you mention are exactly the sort of things they have tried to resolved. You said yourself you've bought the previous games, you've clearly had enough but there is no need to denigrate a studio's work when the reviews all indicate that it is of a very high standard.

Working overtime for the biggest cash-in of the year, another re-skin, nothing new or innovating since MW. I get about ~3-4hrs entertainment out of their massive effort, thats if I even bother to finish it, their last attempt wasn't great, I gave up half way.

Just because you don't like it, that doesn't justify stealing it. Just don't get it at all.

Maybe I won't bother, I've already read the unimpressive reviews that say its just another reskin, waste of my bandwidth. Review embargos were there for a reason, its utter shíte

Whether or not it's the biggest cash-in of the year doesn't effect the employees and the work they put into it.
Implying that it being "another re-skin" means no work was put into it is simply ignorance.
Whether or not something new or innovative was injected into the franchise also doesn't mean a lot of effort wasn't put into it.

As Jim said, if you don't like it, don't buy it. As for the unimpressive reviews, it has a 90% score on Metacritic with even the more reputable reviews giving it 8s and 9s. In terms of user reviews it's also scored extremely highly with just a bunch of laughable negative reviews stopping it from being higher.

Not quite, I'm going to wait a week or so and then pick it up for the PC. I have Super Meat Boy to tide me over for another while.

The only reason I replied was because I found it ironic that one of the biggest proponents of the "lol consoles sux" contingent was stating they were going to pirate it for the PC. :pac:

Got it today for ps3 and finished it in a couple of hours, all of us sitting up now playing the zombie maps. 43 euro in tesco lucan this morning and they had loads of copies. The multiplayer and the zombie maps alone are brilliant, some parts of the campaign are good and the story is hilariously bad.

Will maybe go on my wishlist this xmas for pc.

Hopefully by then they'll have looked into this:

I'm playing Black Ops on PC, and have been having some problems. Random performance issues, even stuttering during cutscenes. Turns out I'm far from the only one.

Many PC players are reporting issues with the game related to poor performance that has nothing to do with their own hardware. For example, Black Ops will slow to a crawl in relatively quiet areas of the game, while in hectic stages full of explosions it may carry on just fine.

This issue is affecting users in multiplayer as well, creating the effect of "lag" when in reality the best theories out there point to it actually being a memory leak.

The pic above shows an example, the game taking up a dangerous (and ridiculous) 85% of a user's CPU power.

There's no confirmation yet from developers Treyarch on the cause or a possible fix for the issue.

Haven't had those PC issues people are reporting. Think its great so far. Great finally having lag free online gaming. The single player is great too :)
