    Hi All

Got a year 2000 golf tdi 90bhp that ok for 10 minutes when cold and then cuts power down to nearly 1400 revs and then constantly remains at this speed in fifth gear... the throttle is of no effect as it will not slow the car down or speed up..
someone mentioned the throttle sensor gives some trouble in these

    any ideas

    thanks

Do you get any warning lights, especially the orange glow plug warning light?

yes this light does come on and flash... someone told me there is a sensor above the accelerator pedal thats could be the cause..sort of goes into limp mode

You would need to get a scan done on it with vcds or dealer equipment to see what fault codes are logged.
What part of the country are you in, i might be able to do it for you.
