Loop Pedals

Right, looking for a looper than I can switch between loops on the fly. If it can switch back to the previous loop without having to stop and save it first that would be a big plus.
I'd ideally like to be able to route the looped signal to one amp and the live guitar to another.
Would like to be able to save the loops if possible.

I've been looking at the Boss RC50, the new Digitech Jamman Stereo and the Boomerang Rang III. The JM4 is another possibility. They all seem to have there pluses and minuses from what I've read. Is there any others I should look at? Anyone one or more of these and can compare? Or have one and can answer the questions above?

    Cheers.

ive been looking at a few. the akai headrush is another one worth a look apparently, ive never used one though. the boss series of loop pedals appear to have the best rep

Have you considered a computer setup?

A laptop, audio interface, MIDI foot controller and Ableton Live can do all this and a million times more. You'd never need anything else and you wouldn't be limited at all.

The Headrush is brilliant. Far better than an RC2 in my opinion for what it does.
But you cant save any loops and the loop time is short. But the fact that the headrush is a decent delayand Tape echo unit still makes it a good addition to a board if you just want to throw in the odd loop.

Interesting. I havent really considered it. I like the simplicity of just having an extra pedal but, yeah, I suppose if I really want everything, then that is the only way. Going to check it out. Cheers.

Heh, there's nothing simple about the setup you were talking about :p

I'm playing around with an RC50 at the moment. An hour to play around with it and you'll have pretty much all you want from it. You can save recordings in different banks, each with 3 separate phrases that you can overdub infinitely. You can set it up so that each phrases just layers over the last or that it replaces the last and stuff like that... I have a lend of mine though. I wouldn't realistically pay 500e for it!

I'd suggest you watch some of Christopher Willits' tutorial videos on XLR8R TV. Kinda blew my mind when I first saw them.

Yeah thats the one I mentioned in the 1st post. Looks good in most ways but for the fact that it cant save anything. Thats a big but!
