    Hi.

Just got an office job and because this is my firs experience like this here i don't have any clue what to wear. Obviously i'm not going to end up wearing bottoms and runners, but what would You suggest to wear with that kind of job? Would full suit be recommended or maybe jeans and shirt do the job?

jeans tend not to be appropriate office wear. Wear a suit if you have one or a shirt and trousers.

once there gauge what others are wearing and then dress accordingly.

I think i will do that. Not that i have anything against suits but You know yourself that you really hate them after a week.

Depends on the office but the safest thing would be slacks, shirt and tie. You can always take off the tie if the office is informal. Any chance you could see/find out what other people in the office wear before you start?

Just ask them what their dress code is! Definitely don't wear jeans unless you're specifically told you can wear them.

Right. What i'm gonna wear is slacks, shirt, tie and jacket. Then we'll see what happens. I don't know what the dress code is there so that would be safest option. Thanks for Your help though.

Sensible idea OP, always better to be a bit over-dressed than under-dressed. Particularly if you're new, nobody will hold it against you.

    Best of luck.

I always go for the slacks, shirt , and nice interview type jumper in that scenario, cause even if its really informal you'll look casual enough, but its the opposite you'll look well dressed.
