Trying to decide between Biotechnology OR Cell Biology & Genetics (in DCU)?!
Is Biotechnology better in NUI Maynooth or DCU?
From people who have done any of these courses, I know Cell Biology is 40 more points than Biotech. but with Biotech. you have the teaching option...
But which do you think is better in terms of everything..
is there any maths in these courses?
    Which is more "challenging"?
What's the male/female ratio in both courses?
Apart from teaching, which offers the better careers?
    Anything else!
    Thanks

I havent done this course myself but i know a lot of people who did.
I can tell you what i do know about it. You have to study chemistry for 3 years, there is no choice in the biological subjects and there is a work placement in 4th year.

In first year you do 4 subjects, biology, maths, chemistry and an extra science subject.
Second year its Biology and biotechnology and chemistry , i think you have to do an extra science subject in this year, not too sure.
Third year you do Biotechnology and chemistry.
In final year its biotchenology and a work placement. The work placement is a good idea as it allows you to get some real skills and expierence.

Op, are you hoping to do biotechnology or are you just interested in biological sciences?

    100th POST =D!!!
