The 3 month warrenty on my car expired last week! I have had some work done on the car under the warrenty, the last being an oil leak. Is there an obligation on the garage to look at it again because they knew about the problem before the end of the warrenty?

Sounds like they were just happy to let the warranty run out. You might have a problem with them now. You should have sent something in writing near the end of the warranty to cover yourself if you felt it was going this way.
