    Hi all,

Many reviews I've been reading of the new MacBook Air, and certainly the review below, would seem to suggest it's a MacBook Pro killer. Has anyone out there used it, and if so, what're your thoughts?

A Techcrunch article, enough said. Plus Siegler needs a laptop that is good for browsing and writing, hence the air is amazing.

For everyone else the macbook or pro is needed - and the pro at least will always be in apples line as long as they sell any laptops.

The new Air is not a MBP killer, not remotely. The flash storage might give the Air an advantage in some tasks, but for the most part, even the low-end MBP would wipe the floor with the Air.

I don't think there should be any dilemma about which to get. I mean, if you need extra light and slim portability, won't be doing anything particularly taxing, and will be using it as a secondary machine, then go for the Air. Otherwise, the MBP is probably the better option in every respect.

Apple don't usually bring out "killers" of their own devices. Certainly the MBA is a beast for a totally different purpose than the MBP

I sold my core i5 macbook pro two weeks ago and bought the top configuration macbook air 13. I couldn't be happier. I wasn't using a quarter of the power in the macbook pro. And the funny thing is that this macbook air actually feels way faster for general tasks because of the ssd. The new Football Manager plays very well because of the gpu. No slowdowns and 3d match engine doesnt have a stutter. I'd definitely recommend the air over the 13 inch pro for non power users. Portability is unbelievable compared to the 15 inch pro.
