    if i order a.e.g from e-hobby
    • will it get through customs

      all parcels from outside the eu will go thought customs, customs may of course have a closer look as its a rif and would flag on there radar, but as long as it is under a joule there is no reason for it not to be released
    • how long it will take

      how long is a piece of string, normal only takes 24/48 hours if paper work is good and customs are happy, if customs ar unhappy with paperwork and parcel it could be sent for testing which could take months
    • could it be confiscated

      if it is over a joule yes, if it is under a joule your importing a legal item so there would be no reason to confiscate

    • will there be taxes which i dont mind but if so roughly how much on a 300 dollar a.e.g whats the %:D

      add 25% to the total including shipping to give you a good idea of what you could pay on top including vat and courier/admin fees + duty if your unlucky enough to get slapped with that as well

    answer in bold, hope it helps

    Since the new laws of not allowing people to import would it be possible to get a supplier to import specific models that you want? You think it would be possible to get a supplier to purchase the gun you wanted and give them a fee or is there a lot more implications involved for suppliers etc?

    Thanks in advance.....

    Almost any Irish retailer will get you anything you want for a relatively small fee.

    You can still import yourself no problem at all so long as you keep to the currently enforced laws, which is just the <1J law.

    Thanks for that ;->

    ... do your little bit to keep the IRISH airsoft retail industry alive. Give your local retailer the opportunity to quote you for what you are looking for. Dont be seduced by HK prices, by the time it gets here the difference is normally not even 10%. If you are going to give the likes of Ehobby 2-3 weeks to send you something and make the courier co. rich, don't bitch the next time ye go into a local store and see no high-end stock.

    I would say that 90% of Irish Retailers (Tony in Eirsoft, Peter in Go-Tactical, Marcus in Hobby, ourselves, etc) will happily quote you for what you are looking for. Just because it's not on their website, doesn't mean they can't get it for you...

    Am heading to the USA and was thinking of ordering this..

    http://m.airsoftmegastore.com/5195-HK-2279040-240-FPS-H-And-K-Fully-Licensed-MP7-Airsoft-Submachine-Gun-AEG-w-Included-Foregrip-Battery-And-Wall-Charger.aspx

    To be delivered to a relative and then pick it up when I get there and bring it home.

    Any pitfalls to the plan? Seems like a good deal relative to prices here?

    Going to require a hard flight case, check that the airline accepts firearms transatlantic and any fees or additional paperwork required by the airline

    And it will come with an orange tip.

    I only have the photo to go off, but it looks like a cheap and nasty version. I would try and find out a bit more about who makes it before handing over any money.

    Specifications:
    Operation: Electric Automatic
    Firing Modes: Semi-automatic and Full-automatic
    Muzzle Velocity: 210-240 FPS (w/ 0.12g BB's), 160-180 FPS (w/ 0.20g BB's)
    Magazine: 180rd high capacity magazine
    Gearbox: Reinforced Polymer Proprietary Gearbox
    Weight: 2.5 pounds

    180 fps is 0.3 of a Joule, sounds like it's a LPEG. :(

    It's the well/galaxy I'd say. I'd assume umarex licensed them to make some cheap mp7s. It's a LPEG, AEP whichever you call it

    To the everlast, some Irish retailers can import the mp7 for you if it's less hassle. I've seen it in stock in at least one store

    It probably is an LPEG but i'm too much of a nerd not to point out that 180FPS is .54 of a joule ;)

    I'd steer clear of this aeg

    180FPS = 54.72 M/S

    Energy of a 0.2g BB fired at 180FPS = 0.3joule
