Hello lads .Does the scope mounted 170 come with a 100 watt or 50 watt bulb as standard . Would the 50 watt be okay for lamping foxes or would the 100 be better. Regards rg.

i have used a 50watt bulb in my lightforce and it dose the job
what part of the country are you in because i have some 50watt bulbs with the vertical filament(vertical filament gives a good round spot) in the press if you wanted one to give it a try

    hi rg

i suppose it depends a lot on what you are shooting them with. If you are using 22cf and above then i find the 100w bulb gets you out to the ranges you may find yourself shooting at. the 50w bulb will probably do but i still find myself even with the 100w bulb struggling at times to make a clear identification as i seem to get more cats comming to calls than foxes .

If you have a choice i would go for the 100w option.

where in the north are you located. I am up in the north also.
