Was up on bit of ground in Louth this morning in the dense fog trying to find some deer. Saw a shape in the growing light but couldnt make it out and when the fog cleared for 5 seconds nothing to be seen anywhere !!

Anyway moved on to another spot down the road and just before we pulled in saw 6 hinds head down grazing away bout 100 yds in off the road. Hopped out, grabbed rifle, insert magazine and try insert bolt !! Not a chance !!

When I tried to chamber a round the bolt would slide in but wouldnt close down, tried on an empty chamber, still nothing  Took it out, all seemed clean and ok, blew down the chamber and shook it around, tried to close it again still woudnt  Took it all apart and back together bout 10 times growing more and more frustrated, and was just bout throw it all on the ground in a fit of rage when it suddenly starts slide in and out beauifully like it always did  Needless to say the group of hinds were running across the field with a look of " not today boyo " on there faces !!

Time for breakfast roll and back home

I find as one grows older inanimate objects start to cause more and more in the way of potential frustration and anger:(

PS: Enjoy your roll - tasty food always helps in these situations;)

    Well here is something similar:rolleyes:

Three/Four weeks was out stalking, my first day out, night before got everything ready, double checked in the morning. Stopped at a few of my spots, nothing. After a while I spotted a small Buck waaaaay up a side of a hill. Got ready for a walk, lost sight of the buck, was not really bothered nice day for a walk. After about 45 minutes came over the brow of the hill sure enough there he was grazing about 150 yrds. Slapped in magazine 3 rounds, put my hand down to my belt to get my bolt from the holster which I purchased here, sure enough the bolt from my 17HM fu--ing R was in the holster instead of my 308 Bolt.:o
