Disk space on laptop not changing

    (apologies if wrong f0rum!)

So I'm doing a cleanout of my laptop and transferred at least 15GB of files over to a hard drive, deleted them from my laptop and emptied the recycle bin.
The disk space was still the same so I used CCleaner to clear our temporary files. I also tried manually in case Kaspersky or Norton had made any backups (there were only a very small few to delete here).
And yet, my disk space has only increased by about 2GB

I also ran Disk Cleanup, but this didn't do much either.

Is there anything else I can try??

    which operating system?

there's a handy tool called Tree Size free edition will scan the disk and list out the directories and the sizes, you can then drill down ad see what folders are taking up space. Have you run a disk check yet?
